CENTER and NORTH GALLERIES: Photogravures by Alice Bailey | Quinhagak, Bethel, Nikolai
Quinhagak, Bethel, Nikolai explores the human landscape of Yup'ik and Athabaskan communities along the Kuskokwim River in Western Alaska. The photographs were made over nine years of returning to these villages and are printed as etchings to best capture the unique beauty and richness of the north.
Alice Bailey has taught photography at the University of Alaska and the University of Virginia, and she was recently awarded the 2019 Aaron Siskind Individual Photographer’s Fellowship. She lives in Fairbanks, Alaska.
